In a Fleeting Dream
With each brush of the night
And each blush of the day
With outstretched arms
Winter holds me fast here
The rising of the sun
And wind
The subtle song of rain
Trickles all night long
An almost musical refrain
The last withered leaves
That dance and swirl
In denial of their pain
This season of sighs
With its cold fingers
Ever reaching for my breath
The white blanket of beauty
Would seek to remind me
Of the whispered vows
Beneath the shadow covers
Which rising winds
Bore far away
Of where I lost myself
And the warmth
I have yearned for
Trying to escape reality
In a fleeting dream
Wandering in thought
Weaving beauty till the end
