The Colour of You

The Colour of You

You are long lazy summer days

Warm, scented winds

Dusky, sensual afternoons

Trickles of sweat, hot, tawny eyes

You are buttercups, ripe wheat

Sharp, bright, lemons

Muted rays of sunshine

Faded, golden leaves, burnished skin

You are rising crimson mornings

Sweet, dripping cherries

Heady, fragrant burgundy

Ruby wine, ripe, vermillion kisses

You are precious as Sapphires

The jewels of September

Azure oceans, turquoise evenings

Hyacinth skies, halcyon days, indigo soul

You are a jet black starless sky

An empty, moonless night

Gleaming, inky surface

Ravens’ wings, pitch dark, heart of glass
