The Face of Heaven

The Face of Heaven

My sweet love

You have vanished

Shadows pass me

I don’t feel them

Our memories

Are intertwined

And sometimes

I sit in a lonely place

And grieve

For what I have lost

No one can know me more

Not projecting

Or connecting

But reflecting

It was not so long ago

But now

I am caught in darkness

Locked in the mirror

But since time

Decrees what falls

And the colours of the day

Move on

My thirst I shall endure

Soon the wind

Will blow through me

And I shall take leave

Into the blue

To roam the endless skies

Like a tempest

In search of the face of heaven

That was so lovely

To find

The face of hope again

And once more

My sweet love

To look into your eyes
