My Arms Remain Empty

My Arms Remain Empty

In this sorrowful night

That is lingering, endless

Dark and ever dreamless

I hear your sighs and whispers

Feel your soft caress

Soothing, as you pass

Yet still you are

As formless as the wind

Or the mist of the moon

Dripping from the heavens

On a winter night

A cool touch upon my skin

My heart begins to tremble

Helpless fluttering

I sense your presence

Restless, tangible

My soul is overflowing

But as always

My arms remain empty

And your memory

Ghostly

Holds me back

From morning
