Silence

Silence

Waking to the silence of tomorrow

Lost within myself

From yesterday’s dream I watch

Weightless words free falling, leaf like

Woven with intangible reason

Words that are mine alone

Dripping like the morning mist from roses

Numbering the countless petals of my love

I hear the threads of truth as they unravel

Through the thinness of the morning air

They speak in the tones of trust

And stir a distant memory

But suddenly the spell is broken

And then

What surprising silence
